Transparency at Vairify
Privacy notice

What happens when you analyze a URL
Your browser sends the submitted URL to the Vairify server. The server requests the public page, extracts text from its HTML, computes writing statistics and estimates based on a proprietary algorithm, and returns the text and results to your browser. The target website receives the request from our server and may log the URL and server IP address. We do not send your browser cookies or login credentials to the target website.
URLs and fetched pages may contain personal information. Submit only public content you are authorized to process, and avoid private links, access tokens, or sensitive information. The analysis code does not use external AI services or use submissions to train a model.
Storage and service providers
The application does not create visitor accounts, save analysis reports to a database, or intentionally log submitted URLs or page text. Request data is processed in server memory; the report remains in your browser while the results view is open. The target URL appears in the results page’s URL fragment and may remain in browser history. Responses request no caching, but this does not erase browser history or information retained by infrastructure providers. The contact and example forms use a temporary hash of your IP address to limit repeated submissions.
Operational analytics and security
On our PHP hosted site, our private Observatory records visits to Vairify pages: time, page path without a query string or fragment, IP address, estimated country, and device, browser and operating system categories derived from the browser’s user agent. When our host does not provide a country code, our server sends the visitor’s IP address to IPWhois for a country lookup and uses a private cached result for up to 30 days; expired cache files are removed on later requests. We use this information to understand traffic, troubleshoot problems and review suspicious requests. It does not record the URL you submit for analysis, page text, or your form message. Recent visit and security records are retained for about 30 days; an all-time page-view count remains. The Observatory also records missing pages, suspicious requests, failed administrator logins and manual IP blocks. Our hosting provider may keep separate server logs under its own retention practices.
Website preview and external links
The results page initially shows the analyzed text. If you choose Website preview, its images, fonts and stylesheets load from the original website and its providers, as does any site you open from an external link. These websites may receive your IP address and browser information and may use cookies under their own policies. See Cookies & external websites.
Vairify VPrints on other websites
When a website displays a Vairify VPrint badge, each visitor’s browser requests the VPrint image from Vairify. That request reveals the visitor’s IP address and browser information, and usually the address of the page showing it. The VPrint sets no cookies and is not used to identify or track visitors. To keep VPrints current, our server may retrieve the badged page when its cache expires. On PHP hosting, the badge state and check time are kept briefly in a server cache file under a one-way hash of the reviewed URL; the report and page text are not stored. Hosting providers may keep request logs as described above.
Example submissions
If you submit a site on the Examples page, we receive the site address, the email address and optional name and comments you provide. We use them only to review the site, decide whether to feature it and contact you about it. The submission is sent to us by email and is not stored by the application.
Your choices and rights
You can close the report and clear your browser history. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, or receive a portable copy of personal data. To ask about your information or exercise a right, use the contact form. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Audience and changes
This beta is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Material changes to data handling will require an updated notice before the new processing begins. This notice describes the website; previously distributed extension versions require their own review.
